DESTINATION MARKETING MANAGER

(TOURISM MARKETING)

POSITION CODE: 210206

TASK Grade 14 (R517 584 – R719 580 per annum)

(Basic salary only, excluding benefits)

 

Qualifications and experience required:

  • National Diploma in Marketing/Tourism (three-year qualification).
  • Valid Code B Driver’s License.
  • Three years' experience in Marketing/Tourism, of which two years should be at management level.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office (Word/ Excel/ PowerPoint) applications.
  • Must have a good understanding of Local Government systems.

 

Key attributes and competencies:

  • Must have good negotiation skills - It will be required of the incumbent to negotiate on all levels in terms of Destination Marketing related matters.
  • Must be able to pay attention to detail - The incumbent will be responsible for important Tourism Destination Marketing related matters.

Job purpose:

To lead, deliver and manage destination and tourism product awareness and demand through international and domestic destination marketing activities.

Qualifications and experience required:

 

  • National Diploma in Information Technology (three-year qualification).
  • Valid Code B Driver’s License.
  • Three years’ experience in a tourism destination marketing, campaign management, research and reservations environment which include:
  • Exposure in using research insights, media monitoring and analytics in a Digital Marketing environment.
  • Experience with Content Management Systems, Customer Relationship Management, Search Engine Optimization, Search Engine Advertising, Social Media Marketing and Advertising and other digital marketing systems.
  • Experience in Database development, maintenance and integrity checks.
  • Experience in Tourism Economic Impact Assessments and Research.
  • Must be an expert with Microsoft Office (Word/ Excel/ PowerPoint/ Access) applications.
  • Must have a good understanding of Local Government systems.
  • Strong background in Content Management Systems and Digital Marketing.
