PUBLIC PARTICIPATION: COMPREHENSIVE INTEGRATED TRANSPORT PLAN – 2023 to 2028

 

Section 36 of the National Land Transport Act (Act 5 of 2009) (NLTA) requires a Municipality to prepare and submit integrated transport plans to the MEC for a five-year period. The minimum requirements for the preparation of Integrated Transport Plans further prescribes that Schedule 1 Municipalities prepare Comprehensive Integrated Transport Plans (CITPs). The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality (NMBM) is a Schedule 1 Municipality and as such it is required to prepare a CITP. The NMBM has currently overhauled its CITP for the period of the 2023/2024 to 2027/2028 financial years.

 

It is also a requirement that the draft CITP be made available for public comment and that adequate opportunity should be provided for all stakeholders to make representations or objections. Such representations and/or objections shall be reviewed by the authority and, if necessary, the draft shall be revised prior to submission to Council for approval.

 

The Draft Comprehensive Integrated Transport Plan: 2023 - 2028 will be available for inspection and comment by the general public, interested and affected parties at the Public Libraries in the NMBM. It will also be published in the document library on the municipal website: www.nelsonmandelabay.gov.za/ DataRepository/Documents/citp-202328-final-draft20231113y1wie.pdf.

 

All comments, representations and objections are to be submitted in writing to the Acting Director: Transport Sector on zzinto@mandelametro.gov.za, ssomjaliso@mandelametro.gov.za and kmitchell@mandelametro.gov.za by 22 DECEMBER 2023.

OPENBARE DEELNAME: OMVATTENDE GEÏNTEGREERDE VERVOERPLAN – 2023 tot 2028

 

Artikel 36 van die Wet op Nasionale Landvervoer (Wet 5 van 2009) (‘NLTA’) vereis dat ’n Munisipaliteit geïntegreerde vervoerplanne vir ’n vyfjaartydperk voorberei en aan die LUR voorlê. Die minimum vereistes vir die voorbereiding van Geïntegreerde Vervoerplanne bepaal verder dat Skedule 1 Munisipaliteite Omvattende Geïntegreerde Vervoerplanne (‘CITP’s) voorberei. Die Nelson Mandelabaai Munisipaliteit (NMBM) is ’n Skedule 1 Munisipaliteit en moet as sodanig ’n ‘CITP’ voorberei. Die NMBM het sy ‘CITP’ vir die tydperk van die 2023/2024 tot 2027/2028 finansiële jare hersien.

 

Dit is ook ’n vereiste dat die Konsep- ‘CITP’ vir openbare kommentaar beskikbaar gestel word en dat voldoende geleentheid vir alle belanghebbendes gegee word om vertoë te rig of besware in te dien. Sodanige vertoë en/of besware sal deur die owerheid hersien word en, indien nodig, sal die konsep gewysig word voor voorlegging aan die Raad vir goedkeuring.

 

Die Konsep- Omvattende Geïntegreerde Vervoerplan: 2023 - 2028 sal vir die algemene publiek, belangstellende en geaffekteerde partye vir kommentaar ter insae lê by die Openbare Biblioteke van die NMBM. Dit sal ook in die ‘document library’ op die munisipale webtuiste: www.nelsonmandelabay.gov.za/ DataRepository/Documents/citp-202328-final-draft20231113y1wie.pdf gepubliseer word.

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality is considering the sale of the above erf to the current occupant thereof.
